Ágúst Orri Þorsteinsson joins Dutch club Excelsior

Icelandic footballer Ágúst Orri Þorsteinsson has joined the Dutch Eredivisie club Excelsior. The 21-year-old left winger transfers from the Icelandic club Breiðablik.

Þorsteinsson, who has been a key player for Breiðablik and is a member of the Iceland U21 national team, noted that the move happened quickly after Excelsior scouts monitored his performances in the Besta deild karla. He described the transition to the Dutch top flight as a significant step up in intensity and a vital opportunity for his professional development.
