Gstaad identified as most expensive Alpine real estate market

According to the ‘The Alpine Report 2026/27’ by Knight Frank, Gstaad, Switzerland, holds the title for the most expensive luxury real estate in the Alps, with prices reaching between €42,200 and €46,700 per square meter.

Other top-tier locations include St. Moritz, with prices between €36,500 and €40,300 per square meter, and Verbier, ranging from €33,000 to €36,400. Courchevel 1850 in France follows with prices between €31,700 and €35,000, while Andermatt sits between €25,500 and €28,200.

While Gstaad saw a price decrease of 2.6% over the past year, Davos experienced the fastest growth in the region with a 14.5% increase. Andermatt and Cortina d’Ampezzo also saw significant rises of 12.5% and 10%, respectively. In France, price trends varied; while some areas like Chamonix and Megève remained stable, Courchevel saw moderate increases. Knight Frank noted that high construction costs and energy efficiency requirements have influenced market trends in French resorts.
