Grand Theft Auto VI projected to earn up to $5 billion in launch week
Newzoo reports that pre‑order sales of Grand Theft Auto VI generated roughly $260 million in its first week of availability – about $180 million from the United States and the five biggest European markets and the remainder from other regions. Based on this data, the analyst firm estimates the title could bring in between $3.25 billion and $5.2 billion during its launch week, with sales of 37 million to 51 million copies. The forecast assumes an average price of about $88 per unit across standard and Ultimate editions, while the standard retail price has been set at $79.99. The game is slated for release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a later PC version expected. Industry observers note that the pre‑order campaign is the strongest ever recorded for a video‑game launch, surpassing the record‑breaking debut of GTA V in 2013.
