Take-Two sues Microsoft and Discord over GTA VI leaks FAST-MOVING

A major security breach involving Grand Theft Auto VI has prompted Take-Two Interactive to launch aggressive legal action to identify the leaker known as ‘Cyberleek’. The publisher has obtained court orders in New York to compel Microsoft and Discord to provide user identification data, including IP addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and OneDrive contents, by September 4.

Microsoft’s Xbox division has confirmed it is working closely with Take-Two and Rockstar Games to protect intellectual property. The leaks, which include gameplay footage of characters like Jason and map details of the Leonida region, have caused significant internal frustration at Rockstar Games. Some leaked clips reportedly show mechanics such as a basketball mini-game that affects a character’s ‘Focus’ stat.

Adding to the controversy, the leaker group Cyberleek has reportedly attempted to monetize the situation by offering advertising space within future leaked videos, requesting a payment of approximately 165,000 USD in Monero to begin negotiations. Despite the disruption, Rockstar and Take-Two intend to proceed with their planned official gameplay presentation on Netflix scheduled for August 27.
