Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders show massive demand for Ultimate Edition

Grand Theft Auto VI is generating unprecedented market interest ahead of its November 19, 2026, release. Data from Sensor Tower indicates that approximately 89% of all pre-orders are for the $100 Ultimate Edition, a figure significantly higher than the industry standard of 10% to 20% for premium editions. This trend is consistent across platforms, with 90% of Xbox pre-orders and 88.5% of PlayStation 5 pre-orders opting for the more expensive version.

Rockstar Games is also implementing an unconventional marketing strategy through a partnership with Netflix. On August 27, an extended look at the game, titled 'Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look,' will debut exclusively on Netflix. The footage will become available on Rockstar's YouTube channel six hours after its streaming debut. While rumors of a multi-episode series format have circulated due to leaked interface images, Rockstar and Take-Two have only officially confirmed a single extended presentation.

The game will initially launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is currently no confirmed release date or pre-order option for PC players.
