GTA Vice City and GTA III return to browsers via unofficial ports

Unofficial browser-based ports of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and GTA III have emerged on the Quenq platform, allowing users to play the classic titles directly in a web browser without installation. These versions utilize WebAssembly and WebGL 2 to run reconstructed code, likely derived from community reverse-engineering projects such as reVC and re3.

The browser versions support various input methods, including keyboard, mouse, Xbox and PlayStation controllers, and touchscreen controls for mobile devices. Features include a save game manager and the ability to adjust framerates, though users are cautioned that exceeding the original 30 FPS may cause physics errors.

This development follows the removal of a previous project hosted by DOS Zone, which was taken down following a DMCA notice from Take-Two Interactive. While the new Quenq implementation provides a playable experience, it operates through community-driven technical work rather than official licensing from Rockstar Games or Take-Two.
