Gåte releases new single “Mi Jord” ahead of upcoming album

Norwegian folk-rock band Gåte has released “Mi Jord”, the third single from their upcoming album, Sigil. The album is scheduled for release on September 25 via Season of Mist.

Mi Jord”, which translates to “my earth” in Norwegian, serves as the emotional turning point of the record. The track transitions the album's themes of magic, hunger, and mortality toward a sense of surrender and quiet departure. Musically, the song blends traditional instruments like the hurdy-gurdy and mandola with heavy guitars and austere electronic textures. Guest musician John Stenersen contributed hurdy-gurdy to the recording.

The album Sigil was recorded at MagnuStudio and Øra studios, produced by the duo Kristian Fanavold Tvedt and Magnus Børmark, who have shaped the band's sound since their 2017 return.
