Göteborgsoperan stages Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical

The Göteborgsoperan has launched a major production of the musical ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, based on the book by Roald Dahl. The production premiered on September 21 and is scheduled to run until April 12, 2025.

The musical follows the story of Charlie Bucket, a young boy who discovers a golden ticket hidden in a chocolate bar, granting him entry into Willy Wonka’s mythical chocolate factory. The production is noted for its detailed scenography and a successful Swedish translation of the original rhyming texts.
