Gütersloh develops new concept for 2026 Christmas market

A new concept for the Gütersloh Christmas market has been developed for 2026 following significant criticism of the previous year's event. The plan was created through collaboration between the Gütersloh Marketing GmbH, the city of Gütersloh, the advertising association, and market vendors.

To address concerns regarding limited space and a lack of family-oriented attractions, the new proposal includes expanding the event to Kolbeplatz and reintegrating the area around the water feature. The updated design aims to improve the overall aesthetic and introduce more activities for children and families, such as an ice stock rink and specific children's attractions. The concept also seeks to support local businesses and gastronomy by increasing the event's appeal and vibrancy.
