Gátova confinement lifted as Segorbe forest fire stabilizes
Authorities in the Valencian Community have lifted the confinement order for residents of Gátova as the forest fire originating in Segorbe has stabilized. The lifting of the order took effect at 14:30 on Monday, allowing residents who were evacuated last Friday to resume normal activities outside their homes.
While the confinement has ended, the fire is not yet fully controlled. The Emergency Coordination Center (CCE) maintains Situation 1 of the Special Plan for Forest Fires of the Valencian Community. Consequently, all forest tracks, trails, and access points to the Sierra Calderona Natural Park remain closed to the public.
Traffic has been restored on the CV-25 road between Altura and Olocau, which had been closed to facilitate firefighting efforts. The fire, which was triggered by a lightning strike during storms, continues to be monitored, with officials suggesting it could be fully controlled by Monday night if conditions remain favorable.
