Götz Otto reveals missed 1997 meeting with Lady Diana
Actor Götz Otto has revealed that he was scheduled to meet Lady Diana in 1997, a meeting that was canceled due to the tragic car accident in Paris that claimed her life.
During his time filming the James Bond film ‘Die Another Day’, Otto was working alongside producer Barbara Broccoli. Otto stated that Broccoli, a close friend of Dodi Al-Fayed, had arranged for Al-Fayed and Lady Diana to visit the film set in London on Monday, September 1, 1997. However, the pair died in a crash on the night of August 31.
Otto recalled learning of the tragedy while being picked up from a London nightclub alongside co-star Pierce Brosnan. He described the somber atmosphere in London and on the film set following the news.
