Guadalajara celebrates centenarian Mariano
Mariano, a resident of Guadalajara, was honored by his family and local authorities to celebrate his 100th birthday. Although he reached the milestone on September 27, a special celebration was held on October 24 to allow his children and grandchildren to gather.
Born in 1926 in Santa María de Riaza, Segovia, Mariano grew up in a family of twelve siblings. He spent his working life in Madrid, serving as an EMT bus conductor and a footwear representative. In 2000, he moved to Guadalajara with his wife, Ana.
Eva Henche, the Councilor for Social Welfare and Seniors, attended the tribute to represent the City Council. She described the celebration as a way to recognize seniors as the ‘living memory of Guadalajara.’
