Guadalajara distributes water storage and sanitation supplies
The Guadalajara municipal government has distributed over 16,800 items to assist residents with water storage and treatment. This aid includes 3,700 water tanks (tinacos) to increase household storage capacity, alongside more than 13,000 sanitation supplies such as purifying filters and chlorine tablets.
The distribution is part of a coordinated strategy to improve water quality and management in areas with high necessity. These efforts are carried out during community outreach programs, including 'Martes Comunitarios' and 'Sábados de Corresponsabilidad,' which allow municipal departments to identify specific neighborhood needs through direct contact with residents.
The Government of Jalisco has joined this initiative through a 'peso a peso' funding model, matching the financial contributions made by the Guadalajara City Council to expand the reach of the water support program.
