Guadalajara emergency services respond to separate residential fires

Emergency responders in Guadalajara addressed two distinct fire incidents in residential areas.

In the Ramblases neighborhood, firefighters and municipal police responded to a fire on the second floor of a home on Puerto Caleta street. The blaze, which concentrated in a bedroom closet, damaged furniture and caused heat damage to a mattress and a screen. A neighbor attempted to fight the flames with a garden hose before firefighters arrived to secure the area and extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.

In the Lafayette neighborhood, a short circuit in an electrical panel on the fourth floor of a 15-story building triggered a fire and smoke release. The incident led to the evacuation of approximately 50 people. While building staff managed to suppress the flames before firefighters arrived, one woman was treated by municipal medical services for mild smoke inhalation and carbon monoxide exposure. Electrical inspections were conducted before power was restored to the building.
