Guadalajara hosts Cirque du Soleil and opera productions
Guadalajara is hosting several major cultural productions this October. Cirque du Soleil has installed its large tent near Plaza Patria for the production ECHO, which runs from October 8 until November 1. A central feature of the show is a 12-ton automated cube that rotates and moves to facilitate the performance. Technical teams, including rigging specialists, manage the complex engineering and safety protocols required for the acrobatic elements.
Additionally, the Jalisco State Secretariat of Culture is presenting Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Gianni Schicchi” as part of the “Ópera al Interior” program. This initiative aims to bring artistic productions outside the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. The tour includes free performances in Ajijic on October 2 and Atequiza on October 11. The production is led by the Estudio de Ópera de Jalisco and the Orquesta Sinfónica para la Escena, under the musical direction of Rodrigo Sierra Moncayo.
