Guadalajara hosts medieval open house at historic towers

Guadalajara has hosted an open house event at the Álvar Fáñez and Alamín towers, featuring medieval-themed activities designed to promote local heritage and tourism. The weekend program included guided tours, archery demonstrations, children's workshops such as “Become a knight for a day!”, and a medieval and Celtic-inspired concert performed by the Guadalajara City Orchestra and Choir.

The event follows a recent municipal project under the “Guadalajara Abierta” program, which updated the museography of these historic fortifications. The renovation incorporated modern technology, including 3D reconstructions and artificial intelligence, to enhance the visitor experience. Local officials Víctor Morejón and José Luis Alguacil visited the sites to observe the public response and highlight the city's commitment to making historical monuments accessible and engaging for all generations.
