Guadalajara inaugurates first Producers Market

The Guadalajara Wholesale Market (Mercado de Abastos) has hosted its first Producers Market, an initiative led by the City Council and the Provincial Association of Farmers and Livestock Breeders (APAG). The event features approximately thirty local exhibitors offering various agri-food products, including honey, oil, wine, cheese, bread, artisanal sweets, and game meat.

Mayor Ana Guarinos, Councilor for Commerce and Tourism Víctor Morejón, and APAG President Juan José Laso participated in the opening ceremony. The initiative aims to connect consumers directly with provincial producers, providing visibility to the primary sector and strengthening the link between agri-food activities and the rural environment.

In addition to direct sales, the market includes tastings, musical performances by local youth, and various cultural and sporting activities. The municipal goal is to maintain this level of activity in the market space throughout the year.
