Guadalajara International Book Fair announces honors and 2027 guest

The Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) has announced several major developments for its upcoming editions. Journalist José Luis Martínez will be honored with the “Fernando Benítez” National Award for Cultural Journalism during the 40th edition of the fair. Martínez, a prominent writer and editor with nearly five decades of experience in Mexican cultural dissemination, will receive the recognition on December 6.

Looking further ahead, the City of Buenos Aires has been named the Guest of Honor for the 2027 Guadalajara International Book Fair. The announcement, made at the Teatro Colón, highlights the city's role as a major Ibero-American cultural capital. The 2027 event will mark the 41st edition of the fair, which remains the world's largest market for Spanish-language publications.
