Guadalajara Open draw features top seeds and wildcards

The Guadalajara Open, a WTA 500 tournament, is scheduled to take place from September 13 to 19 at the Centro Panamericano de Tenis. The tournament draw features a highly competitive field following the US Open.

Marta Kostyuk, the top seed, will receive a bye into the second round. Defending champion Iva Jovic, the second seed, will also debut in the second phase. Other high-ranking players include Sara Bejlek (3), Diane Parry (4), Janice Tjen (5), Cristina Bucsa (6), Magdalena Frech (7), and Liudmila Samsonova (8).

Notable wildcards for the event include Bianca Andreescu, Sloane Stephens, Taylor Townsend, and Lois Boisson. Townsend enters the tournament following a strong performance at the US Open, where she reached the fourth round in singles.

Mexican player Renata Zarazúa, ranked 74th in the WTA, is set to debut against an opponent emerging from the qualifying phase.
