Guadalajara presenter held responsible for fatal traffic accident

Michelle Zepeda, a weather presenter for N+ Guadalajara, has been held responsible for involuntary manslaughter following a fatal traffic accident in Guadalajara, Jalisco. The collision occurred in the early hours of September 17 near the University of Guadalajara at the intersection of Enrique Díaz de León and Juárez-Vallarta.

According to the Jalisco State Prosecutor's Office, Zepeda was driving a Kia at high speed and failed to stop at a red light, striking a motorcycle. The impact resulted in the death of 19-year-old Jostin Santamaría. Zepeda received medical attention for injuries sustained in the crash and underwent toxicology and alcohol tests, which returned negative results.

Authorities stated that Zepeda remained at the scene and did not flee, contrary to some social media reports. Legal proceedings will prioritize alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to ensure full reparation for the victim's family, which will be handled through Zepeda's active vehicle insurance policy.
