Guadalajara residence collapses due to waste accumulation

A residence in the Arboledas del Sur neighborhood of Guadalajara collapsed during the early hours of the day. The building, which was occupied by individuals involved in the accumulation of massive amounts of waste, suffered total structural failure.

Prior to the collapse, municipal authorities had visited the property following citizen complaints regarding unsanitary conditions and waste obstructing public walkways. During that intervention, officials issued fines and detained the residents for administrative violations related to the accumulation of tons of trash.

No injuries were reported following the collapse. Civil protection and security forces have secured the perimeter, and crews are expected to begin removing debris and accumulated waste to clear the affected roadway.
