Guadalajara to host regional Cáritas volunteer summit

The Colegio Diocesano Cardenal Cisneros in Guadalajara will host the IX Regional Volunteer Meeting of Cáritas Castilla-La Mancha on Saturday, October 24. The event, themed ‘¡Atrévete! Cambia tu vida’ (Dare! Change your life), is expected to bring together approximately 300 volunteers from the five dioceses within the autonomous community.

This ninth edition marks a shift toward greater volunteer leadership, with participants taking a direct role in conducting and animating the program. The agenda includes workshops focused on social accompaniment, mutual care, and community strengthening, alongside orientation sessions for new volunteers and specialized work sessions for priests to improve pastoral support for local collaborators.

The official opening will feature Rosa García, president of the regional entity; Luis Miguel Rojo Septién, episcopal delegate of Cáritas Española; and Bishop Julián Ruiz of Sigüenza-Guadalajara, along with other regional prelates. The summit aims to reinforce local assistance networks and update tools to address chronic poverty across the region.
