Guadalajara's Fuerte de San Francisco to undergo cultural transformation

The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has launched a tender to rehabilitate the ‘Cantina y Almacenes’ building (ZE-3 ‘H’) within the Fuerte de San Francisco complex in Guadalajara. The project aims to transform the 1,256-square-meter structure, originally built in 1940, into a new cultural and social space.

The contract, with a budget of approximately 110,945 euros, covers the drafting of basic and execution projects, technical testing, and safety studies. Interested companies have until November 3 to submit offers. This initiative is part of a broader roadmap to recover the historic military complex for community and administrative use, following the recent award of works for the Nave de Forja.

Rosa María García, the regional delegate in Guadalajara, stated that these actions are intended to return the space to the local residents and integrate the complex into the city's social life.
