Guadalupe hosts Hispanidad festival with over 1,000 riders

The town of Guadalupe in Extremadura is preparing for the Hispanidad festival on October 12. The event, recognized as a site of tourist interest, is expected to draw more than a thousand riders to the area surrounding the Royal Monastery.

The program includes a musical parade, a procession of the Knights of Santa María de Guadalupe, and a solemn Eucharist presided over by the Archbishop of Oviedo, Fray Jesús Sanz Montes. This year's religious ceremony commemorates the 800th anniversary of the transition of Saint Francis of Assisi and will include the investiture of 30 new knights.

A highlight of the celebration is the arrival of horse-mounted pilgrims at 16:30, maintaining the historical connection between the town's pilgrimage routes and the Virgin of Guadalupe.
