Guadalupe-Tornillo International Bridge blocked by protesters
Residents of Valle de Juárez staged a demonstration at the Guadalupe-Tornillo International Bridge on Sunday, occupying toll booths to demand the restoration of public transportation services.
The protest was organized by local users seeking the immediate return of the public transport line known as ‘El Porve,’ which was reportedly withdrawn by the Subsecretaría de Transporte approximately one month ago. Protesters stated that the lack of service affects roughly 17,000 people, including elderly residents, workers, and individuals with health issues.
Community members noted that while fare adjustments were being discussed, the loss of the service has forced residents to rely on more expensive alternatives, such as taxis and digital ride-sharing platforms.
