Guadeloupe and Mauritius experience varied tropical weather patterns

Weather conditions have stabilized in Guadeloupe following the passage of tropical wave number 33. The system caused significant electrical activity overnight, with the Guadeloupe Meteorological Center recording approximately 450 lightning strikes across the archipelago. While rainfall was concentrated in certain sectors of Basse-Terre and the Côte-sous-le-Vent, the precipitation provided some relief after several weeks of drought in areas like North Grande-Terre. M Météo-France has lifted all weather vigilance, returning the archipelago to a green status as the tropical wave has fragmented and showers have become less frequent.

In Mauritius, a humid air current is bringing intermittent rain and cloudy skies. Fog is expected on the central plateau and eastern regions. While conditions may improve mid-morning, light showers are likely to return in the afternoon and overnight in elevated areas and along the east coast. High seas with swells reaching 2.5 meters have led to strong recommendations against offshore activities.
