Guaicaipuro reports 357 buildings damaged by earthquakes
In Guaicaipuro, Venezuela, authorities have reported that 357 buildings sustained damage following a series of earthquakes that occurred two months ago. Mayor Farith Fraija stated that 800 homes have shown structural flaws, with 21 buildings currently marked with a yellow label indicating specific risks.
Efforts are underway to rehabilitate buildings, including 22 structures targeted for recovery. To assist with repairs, local condominium boards will soon receive certificates allowing them to withdraw construction materials. Additionally, 17 religious centers have been affected, including the 17th-century San Diego de Alcalá parish, which requires extensive restoration to preserve its heritage value.
