Guajará-Mirim border development focuses on Brazil-Bolivia bridge
Federal Deputy Maurício Carvalho has outlined development strategies for the Guajará-Mirim border region, focusing on leveraging its strategic position to create local opportunities. A central component of this plan is the construction of the Brazil–Bolivia Binational Bridge, which will connect Guajará-Mirim to Guayaramerín.
The project has progressed to the stage of developing basic and executive designs following a service order signed by the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT). Carvalho emphasized that the bridge should serve as more than just physical infrastructure, acting as a catalyst for international integration, increased trade, and regional tourism.
During a meeting with local leaders, indigenous representatives, and supporters, Carvalho stressed the importance of ensuring that economic development directly improves the lives of local residents by supporting commerce, culture, and community services.
