Gualeguay municipality faces criticism over spending in flood zone

The Municipality of Gualeguay has faced criticism following its decision to invest public funds into the repair and restoration of the Municipal Bungalows. While local authorities stated the project was planned and budgeted to improve and preserve public spaces, residents have questioned the wisdom of the expenditure.

The bungalows are located on the banks of the Gualeguay River, an area prone to frequent flooding during river rises. Given the anticipated arrival of El Niño, many neighbors have expressed concern regarding the use of public funds for infrastructure in a high-risk flood zone, especially as other essential expenses are reportedly being suspended.
