Gualtieri: Man reported for apartment intrusion and assault with manhole cover

A 33-year-old man has been reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Reggio Emilia following a violent assault in Gualtieri. The incident occurred during the night between June 21 and June 22, 2026, in an apartment located in the Santa Vittoria district.

According to reports, the suspect forcibly broke down the entrance door of the apartment and attacked a 51-year-old resident. The assailant repeatedly struck the victim with a heavy metal manhole cover grate while issuing death threats. The attack was eventually halted by the intervention of several people present at the scene, who stepped in to restrain the attacker and allow the victim to escape.

The victim sought medical attention at the Guastalla Hospital emergency room the following day due to persistent pain. The suspect faces charges of personal injury and serious threats.
