Guanacaste cattle chamber seeks genetic improvements via US imports
The Cámara de Ganaderos de Liberia is launching an initiative to modernize the cattle industry in Guanacaste through specialized genetics. The project involves importing specialized livestock from the United States to boost embryo production and improve the genetic quality of beef cattle in the region.
Isaías Rivas Larios, president of the organization, is currently in the United States managing the acquisition of these animals. The goal is to use these specimens to multiply high-quality genetics through specialized reproduction processes, eventually benefiting a broader range of local producers and increasing the competitiveness of the regional livestock sector.
