Guanajuato authorities establish roadmap for addiction treatment center regulation

Authorities in Guanajuato have established a collaborative roadmap with representatives from more than 40 addiction treatment centers to strengthen regulation and improve institutional coordination. The meeting, led by Secretary of Government Jorge Daniel Jiménez Lona, aimed to facilitate administrative procedures and enhance the quality of care provided across various municipalities.

Key agreements from the session include managing upcoming meetings with federal legislators to analyze potential health legislation modifications that could benefit both treatment centers and their users. The state government also committed to supporting these establishments in their interactions with municipal governments.

To support civil associations in this sector, the state government has allocated over 147 million pesos through the ‘Tocando Corazones’ program. The initiative seeks to maintain a permanent dialogue to address addiction recovery as a priority for the state's quality of life.
