Guanajuato companies increase exports to Canada by 17%

Companies in Guanajuato, Mexico, have increased their exports to the Canadian market by 17% so far this year. This growth is attributed to increased participation in international trade fairs and events designed to strengthen commercial ties.

Luis Antonio Vargas Zavala, Director General of the Coordinator for Foreign Trade Promotion (COFOCE), stated that this expansion is part of a broader strategy to diversify international markets. Key sectors driving this growth include footwear, agro-food products, auto parts, handicrafts, hats, and supply services.

Vargas Zavala noted that political tensions involving the United States have created opportunities for Mexican industries to establish direct trade relationships with Canada, which serves as a growing market for Mexican goods.
