Guanajuato develops Camino Real as community tourism corridor

The state of Guanajuato is strengthening its strategic vision to develop the Camino Real as a community tourism corridor. This initiative aims to integrate the region's historical, cultural, and natural heritage with sustainable experiences to drive regional development.

Aligned with Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo’s ‘Guanajuato SUMA’ strategy, the plan seeks to transform the territory into a tourism pole capable of generating economic opportunities, strengthening local entrepreneurship, and ensuring a better distribution of tourism benefits. Secretary of Tourism and Identity, María Guadalupe Robles León, stated that tourism should serve as a tool to generate well-being and conserve heritage while providing value to local communities.

The proposed model focuses on community participation, environmental sustainability, and the strengthening of local capacities. It includes continuing projects for tourism infrastructure and equipment in various localities to consolidate the Camino Real as a driver for territorial development.
