The state of Guanajuato is expanding its upper secondary education coverage by opening more than 7,000 new first-semester spaces and 58 new high school options. During the 3rd Ordinary Session of the State Commission for the Planning and Programming of Upper Secondary Education (CEPPEMS), Secretary of Education Luis Ignacio Sánchez Gómez stated that the state aims to reach 82 percent coverage, which is within three percentage points of the 2030 goal.

In a separate educational development, Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo attended the investiture ceremony for the new Rector of Universidad La Salle Bajío, Brother Roberto Medina Luna Anaya. The Rector will serve from August 2026 to July 2029. The Governor emphasized the importance of educational institutions as allies in the development of the state and the transformation of youth lives.
