Guanajuato Governor announces new Open State Policy

Guanajuato Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo has announced the development of a new Open State Policy to foster a new public culture based on transparency and collaboration. Supported by the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the initiative aims to expand openness beyond the Executive Branch to include the Legislative and Judicial branches, autonomous bodies, all 46 municipalities, academia, and civil society.

The Governor emphasized that the goal is to ensure public information is accessible, clear, and useful, allowing citizens to participate in and evaluate their institutions. She stated that the objective is to build a vision of “co-responsibility” where information serves as a tool for informed decision-making and trust-building between the government and the public.
