Guanajuato health authorities reach 87% of vaccination goal

The Guanajuato Ministry of Health has administered 369,381 doses as part of its basic vaccination scheme between January and August 2026. This represents an advancement of over 87 percent toward the established goal for the year.

Health Secretary Gabriel Cortés Alcalá noted that these free vaccinations, provided at local health centers, are essential for preventing disease outbreaks. Specific progress reports include:

• Hexavalent vaccine (third dose): 93 percent progress. • Pneumococcus (13V and 20V, second dose): 92 percent progress. • Hexavalent booster: 91 percent progress. • BCG (tuberculosis): 85 percent progress. • Rotavirus (second dose): 85 percent progress. • Hepatitis B: 66 percent progress, which remains the lowest coverage rate in the current schedule.
