Guanajuato health authorities report 4,857 emotional crisis calls

The Guanajuato Ministry of Health has reported that its 'Estoy Contigo' hotline has handled 4,857 calls so far this year. The service provides 24/7 emotional support and guidance for individuals experiencing anxiety, distress, or mental health crises.

Health Secretary Gabriel Cortés Alcalá emphasized the importance of empathy and listening, noting that anxiety is a primary driver for these calls. He encouraged citizens to use the 800 290 00 24 number to seek help without judgment.

In other health initiatives, the Ministry is coordinating with 46 municipalities to address public health priorities, including dengue prevention and motorcycle accident reduction. Additionally, the Hospital General de Celaya is implementing the 'Ruta Dorada' (Golden Route) to accelerate the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric cancer, aiming to provide specialized evaluation within 24 to 48 hours of initial suspicion.
