Guanajuato health ministry administers over 2.3 million vaccine doses
The Guanajuato Ministry of Health has administered more than 2.3 million vaccine doses between January 2025 and July 2026. Health Secretary Gabriel Cortés Alcalá stated that these free vaccinations are a primary strategy for disease prevention and are available across all 46 municipalities at local health centers.
In 2025, the state applied approximately 1.69 million doses, with the most frequent being pneumococcus 13v, hexavalent, and SRP vaccines. Preliminary data for the period of January to July 2026 shows an additional 624,928 doses administered, including hexavalent, pneumococcus, and TD vaccines. The health department continues to urge the population to maintain updated vaccination schedules to protect vulnerable groups, including children and the elderly.
