Guanajuato health officials report organ donation benefiting four people

The Guanajuato Ministry of Health announced that a merchant from León, identified as Óscar, donated his organs, providing life-saving opportunities for four individuals. The donation included one kidney transplanted at the Hospital General de León, another kidney sent to the Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad del Bajío (HRAEB), and both corneas destined for the Hospital General de León.

Additionally, bone tissue was procured for processing and conservation at the Bone Bank to assist patients requiring reconstructive procedures. Health Secretary Gabriel Cortés Alcalá praised the family's decision to honor the donor's will. The ministry highlighted that through the ‘Código Vida’ program and the State Transplant Center, Guanajuato continues to promote a culture of altruistic organ and tissue donation.
