Guanajuato hosts diverse art exhibitions at Cervantino Festival
The 54th Cervantino International Festival in Guanajuato, Mexico, features diverse artistic showcases. Designer Andrés Gutiérrez presents ‘La Tierra que Dejamos’ at the Museo del Pueblo de Guanajuato. Curated by Daniel Garza Usabiaga, the exhibition uses sculptural furniture and organic forms to explore themes of displacement, identity, and roots through seven distinct rooms.
Additionally, the Museo de Arte e Historia de Guanajuato hosts ‘Del hilo a la trama: el arte del tapiz llega al Museo de Arte e Historia de Guanajuato’. This exhibition, a collaboration between the Taller Mexicano de Gobelinos and local culture authorities, explores the history of tapestry. The showcase includes documentaries, tapestries, and video installations, highlighting the technical process of textile art and its historical connection to Mexican identity, including works inspired by Rufino Tamayo.
