San Luis Potosí ramps up security for Fenapo 2026 fair
The state government of San Luis Potosí has launched an Integral Security Operative for the Feria Nacional Potosina (Fenapo) 2026. Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona ordered the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana (SSPC) to coordinate the operation, which was detailed in a meeting chaired by Fenapo Patronato president Fernando Rojo Ocejo and attended by commander Rosalío Ramos García. The plan involves the Guardia Civil Estatal, División Caminos, Guardia Nacional, the Mexican Army, the State Attorney General’s Office, Civil Protection, the fire service, health services, municipal police, internal security staff, paramedics and volunteers.
A subsequent security‑logistics table brought together the three levels of government to finalize coordination. Participants included the Heroic Fire Department, the State Attorney General, the Municipal Guard of Soledad de Graciano Sánchez, the National Guard, the 4th Infantry Battalion of the Secretariat of National Defense and other state security, health and civil‑protection authorities. The operative provides permanent surveillance of the fairgrounds, access control, medical modules, civil‑protection protocols, visitor orientation and a special mobility scheme, aiming to safeguard thousands of families, national and foreign tourists during the 24‑day, free‑access event.
