Guanajuato hosts municipal Juegos Deportivos Populares

The municipal stage of the Juegos Deportivos Populares is underway in Guanajuato, featuring competitions in boxing, martial arts, and 6-a-side football. The event aims to select local representatives for the state phase in Irapuato, with winners eventually progressing to the National Games in Puebla.

As part of the event, municipal authorities inaugurated the renovated boxing gym at the Juan José Torres Landa Sports Complex. The renovation, supported by the Municipal DIF, included updated imagery and a new ring to benefit local athletes and trainers.

The competition involves various age categories, ranging from youth football to martial arts divisions for athletes up to 24 years old. During the recent sessions, several pugilists were recognized for their performance as they prepare for upcoming regional stages.
