Guanajuato implements elderly care programs and hosts binational academic meeting

The Guanajuato State DIF System has provided comprehensive care to more than 66,760 elderly individuals. Key initiatives include the Social Support Program for Seniors, which has assisted over 20,000 people with funds for pharmacy products at ISSEG to reduce economic pressure on families. Additionally, the ‘Grandes Sonrisas’ program has distributed over 1,000 dental prostheses to improve oral health.

In academic news, the University of Guanajuato (UG) hosted the Costa Rica-Mexico Binational University Meeting. Held from August 25 to 27, the event involved students and faculty from the University of Costa Rica and the Inter-American Network of Education in Public Administration (INPAE). The program included conferences, panels, and industrial visits to sites such as the State Institute of Training (IECA) and various automation companies.
