Guanajuato invests 19 million pesos in road improvements

The Guanajuato Secretariat of Public Works has launched the first stage of periodic conservation for the San José Iturbide – Santa Catarina highway. The project involves an investment of 19,358,580 pesos to improve road conditions and safety for approximately 3,643 daily vehicles.

The work covers 8 kilometers and includes lateral strip cleaning, deep pothole repair, local leveling with hot asphalt mix, surface milling, and the application of asphalt carpeting. Additionally, the project includes the installation of speed reducers and horizontal signage.

Construction began in late July and is expected to conclude by the end of the year, with current progress reported at 35.8%. The improvements are intended to benefit the municipalities of San José Iturbide, Tierra Blanca, and Santa Catarina.
