Guanajuato launches psychoeducational workshops for women survivors

The Government of Guanajuato, through the Secretariat of Women, has implemented a psychoeducational workshop titled “Gender Approach Workshop: Informed Trauma Care and Neuroemotional Education.” The program is designed to support the emotional recovery and independence of women survivors of violence.

Fifty-one participants, consisting of current and former users of the Women’s Refuge, took part in the free and confidential sessions. The workshop focused on explaining how the brain and body react to intense fear, stress, and violence. Itzl Balderas, Secretary of Women, stated that the project aims to help women regain security, confidence, and independence by teaching them techniques to reduce tension and strengthen self-esteem.

The initiative has reached several municipalities, including Apaseo el Alto, Celaya, Dolores Hidalgo, Irapuato, León, San Francisco del Rincón, San Luis de la Paz, and Yuriria.
