Guanajuato leads Mexico in diabetes care quality
Guanajuato has ranked first in Mexico for the quality of care provided to patients living with diabetes. According to the Mexico Diabetes Care Quality Index (ICAD México), the state achieved a score of 83.5 points, significantly exceeding the national average of 62.3 points.
Health Secretary Gabriel Cortés Alcalá reported that the index evaluates the performance of the public health system based on three pillars: consistent patient attendance at appointments, the quality of medical care received, and effective disease control.
In Guanajuato, more than 500,000 people are living with diabetes, and over 93,000 are currently receiving continuous treatment and follow-up through state health units.
