Guanajuato legislators address justice system oversight and labor rights

In Guanajuato, Mexico, legislative efforts are underway to address institutional deficiencies and labor conditions within the justice system. Deputy Hades Berenice Aguilar Castillo of the MORENA party has proposed an agreement urging the State Attorney General's Office, the State Commission for Integral Attention to Victims, and the State Judicial Power Council to review potential omissions and failures in victim assistance and legal proceedings.

Aguilar Castillo specifically called for an exhaustive review of investigation files and ministerial actions to address issues such as ineffective responses and deficiencies in notifications. The proposal also seeks to investigate irregularities regarding the treatment of vulnerable persons and access to courtrooms.

Separately, Federal Deputy Greycy Durán Alarcón of the Labor Party (PT) has expressed support for agents of the State Attorney General's Office following a federal judge's ruling in favor of a legal injunction (amparo) regarding improved salary and working conditions. Durán Alarcón emphasized that strengthening public security requires dignifying the workers who manage investigation files and assist victims, noting that long hours and inadequate wages have been long-standing issues.
