Guanajuato officials host ¡Vive Más! Fest in Irapuato

The Government of Guanajuato and the Government of Irapuato organized the ‘¡Vive Más! Fest’ at Irekua Park to commemorate World Food Day. The event focused on promoting healthy eating habits, physical activity, and family coexistence through workshops, recreational activities, and cooking demonstrations.

As part of the initiative, twelve families from various municipalities, including San Miguel de Allende, Silao, and Acámbaro, were recognized as winners of the ‘¡Vive Más! Eat Healthy, Stay Active Always Challenge.’ Winners in the ‘Super Healthy Lunches’ and ‘Team Cooking’ categories each received 10,000 pesos. The winning recipes utilized regional ingredients to demonstrate that nutritious meals can be simple and affordable.

Guanajuato Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo and municipal representatives highlighted the importance of strengthening social fabric through wellness. The state DIF noted that winning recipes will be included in a forthcoming healthy recipe book, continuing a tradition of collecting regional culinary knowledge that has produced five state cookbooks since 2013.
