Guanajuato political tensions rise amid party clashes

Political tensions are rising in Guanajuato, Mexico, involving clashes between major parties. The Morena party's state executive committee condemned an incident during an informative assembly in Irapuato, where a woman identifying as a member of the PAN party reportedly snatched the microphone from federal deputy Antares Vázquez. Morena stated that while political dissent is a right, intimidation and aggression against women in public life must not be normalized.

Separately, the PRI leadership in Guanajuato has called for opposition parties and civil society to form a united front ahead of the 2030 presidential elections. PRI state president Ruth Noemí Tiscareño Agoitia and other leaders criticized the current administration, alleging that federal debt and social spending are leading the country toward an economic crisis. The PRI also criticized Morena-led governments for issues regarding insecurity and high official salaries.
